Born April 16, 1981 in Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Simon Lira became fascinated with 50s Americana rock ‘n’ roll music at an early age. Ultimately inspired by a mix of styles such as swing/smooth jazz, rockabilly, and boogie-woogie, with influences of psychobilly and punk, country and hard rock, in 2010 Lira formed his ideal 3-piece power combo Old Chevy.  Since then, they have become one of the most active independent rock ‘n’ roll bands from Brazil.

Old Chevy CD releases include On The Run (2019), which showcased all original tunes. Heritage released in 2018 was a 16-track CD tribute extravaganza with the band covering some of their most favorite artist/group tunes from Johnny Cash to The Monkees. Two original “bonus” tracks were also featured. Their Live DVD (2018) and Live Session EP (2016) complete their media collection.
