Jessica Kaczmarek started her professional music career at the age of 17, playing in bands and performing in recording studios as a teenager. She’s a multi-instrumentalist and singer who plays lead guitar, piano/synthesizer, bass, ukulele, and mandolin.
Her earliest guitar influence was Jimi Hendrix–she had been taking piano lessons at the time, when she saw Hendrix on television and it completely changed her world. She immediately stopped piano lessons and started playing guitar, digging deep into the blues of Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Robert Johnson, and the British blues of John Mayall and Eric Clapton. Later heroes were David Gilmour, and soul legend Steve Cropper, along with contemporary players such as Johnny Marr from The Smiths, and The Edge. Chet Atkins, Eddie Cochran, Scotty Moore, Duane Eddy, and Link Wray came soon after as she delved more into the style of early rock and roll.
Kaczmarek has worked in various seminal bands around Los Angeles and Orange County, playing music ranging from indie rock/alternative, punk, blues, surf and rockabilly, with bands such as The Busstop Hurricanes, Russell Scott & The Red Hots, and backing band for Tom Kenny (a.k.a SpongeBob Squarepants) on his comedy tours. She also appears on featured songs with Tom on the Cartoon Network, with Bourbon Jones (with drummer Steven Hodges of Tom Waits band and also John Hammond Jr), and on many guest appearances with The Blue Shadows (featuring members of The Blasters).
This has led her to opportunities touring around the U.S and Europe, playing with such world-renown musical acts as Prince, Chuck Berry, Joe Strummer of The Clash, Mike Ness Of Social Distortion, The Reverend Horton Heat, Dwight Yoakum, and The Nelson Brothers.
Kaczmarek is currently playing guitar and singing with Greg Antista & The Lonely Streets (“punk rock with a twist of Johnny Cash”), and making guest appearances with the Tony Lopez All Star Blues Band.
Her musical path ultimately led her to working in creative capacities for Interscope and Columbia Records, in addition to doing studio work performing on albums for various artists at recording studios in and around Hollywood and Orange County.
Kaczmarek is currently working on movie soundtracks for films in Brazil and the U.S, along with a documentary about a Hollywood golden age public relations agent that is slated for release later this winter. She is also finishing album work with Greg Antista & The Lonely Streets, and currently working on her own alternative rock solo project.
